BELLALORE PRODUCTIONS

Bellalore, from the Latin bella, beautiful, and lore, story, was born from the name of a town invented for the original stage production Bing! What started as a place on a page became the name for a company built on the same idea: that stories, told well, are worth building a world around.

Founded by writer/director/composer Jason Woods, Bellalore Productions creates original theatrical work, film, and literature united by a fascination with transformation; how characters, and the worlds around them, change. The company's catalog includes Bing!, Peter Pan, A Mad, Mad Wonderland!, The Legend of St. Nick, and the children's novel The Little Toy Shoppe, published through its imprint Bellalore Press.

Woods' stage work has earned acclaim Off-Broadway and internationally, including four honors at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, among them Best New Writing and Best Individual Performance,  with The Scotsman calling Woods "a one-man wonderland."

Bellalore's upcoming projects include the feature film Mercy, a Southern Gothic horror written and directed by Woods, following his short film The Silver Burden.

Whether building intricate worlds on the stage, composing cinematic scores, or crafting narratives on the page, Woods's work is driven by a lifelong fascination with the mechanics of transformation,

a throughline that now defines Bellalore Productions as a whole.
